The Work Lounges at Google are a communal work product with a light touch hospitality layer for users to work alone, together. Workers can choose between the zone that best fits their needs. The “living room” features casual, comfortable soft seating arranged to support informal conversations and work. The “library” primarily consists of long tables and chairs setups to support individuals working side by side with others. The “quiet zone” is an intentionally quiet area with individualized furniture setups for focused solo work.
Arcsine developed three pilot Work Lounges, each with a distinctive look, to help bring a hospitality feel into these spaces. MP1 evokes a greenhouse, where cozy channel-tufted booths, a refreshed statement wall, natural tones, and greenery galore breathe new life into a comfortable, invigorating space. TM1 has a playful coastal feel, where organic forms, inviting textures, and fresh colors inspired by summertime soothe and inspire. At CRSM, a curated mix of bold hues, eclectic furniture, and accessorized vignettes brings to mind a converted industrial loft space made homey. Sheer draperies, tall windows, and vertical elements create a light and airy atmosphere for focused work.
