Oaklandish stands as a beacon of local pride and cultural resonance, and its iconography is endlessly recognizable. By enlarging its iconic elements and treating them as super graphics, we elevate and abstract the brand’s visual assets through scale, ensuring that its essence remains boldly legible and resonant.

This design is particularly interesting - and challenging - in that a previous environmental impact report requires that travelers have continuous access to the viewing of the adjacent Estuary and wetlands. As such, this design could not have any walls taller than six feet and also could not be closed during hours of non-operation. Arcsine customed designed a solution which secures all product after-hours, yet provides for pleasant access to the glazing and views of the Estuary.
