Brightmark is an office tenant improvement project located in San Francisco. Upon entering Brightmark’s headquarters, visitors are greeted with a green wall at reception. This immediately sets the tone of the space and reinforces the company’s mission to create a world without waste.
The open plan workstations and breakout zones foster a sense of equality and encourage collaboration among employees. Conference and meeting rooms at the perimeter are differentiated with bright, stimulating colors while a large, centrally placed lounge allows for casual conversation and organic interaction. The lounge is anchored with a large feature wall decorated with preserved greenery and dimensional reclaimed wood paneling. A three-sided fireplace adds ambiance and warmth, enhancing the comfortable residential atmosphere. The breakroom provides an additional zone for interactions, lunches and happy hours. Beer taps and espresso equipment are provided, and a central island of colorful customized tiles with an agricultural-inspired pattern acts as a natural gathering place.
Recycled furniture and sustainable materials are a key component used throughout the workplace and lessen the environmental impact of the project. Existing wall and floor finishes are left intact, reducing construction waste and highlighting the industrial character of the space.
