Inspired by a cattle rancher’s attire
LB Steak, San Ramon
Elevated Steakhouse Experience
LB Steak is a modern American steakhouse led by Chef-Owner Roland Passot, serving naturally raised organic meats, organic seasonal produce, and sustainable seafood. Inspired by cattle ranchers’ apparel, the 6,000-square-foot restaurant elevates the classic steakhouse experience. While the steakhouse leans into a cattle ranch feel, the space still feels refined and sleek. Arcsine brought a textured approach to the overall design; from unexpected wall coverings to live-edge tables, materials take center stage.
Refined and Rustic
The space pulls its concept from its brick + mortar San Jose location, where a contemporary American steakhouse shows it’s true colors. The new San Ramon location takes cues from cattle rancher’s apparel, where refined yet rustic materials and features are displayed through every detail.
Focal point and features
As guests enter, they are greeted with a lively bar that was envisioned as the restaurant’s showstopping feature. The back bar design was intricate, involving multiple layers of various light fixtures and industrial details such as Banker Wire mesh that highlight elegant sconces, which were inspired by bolo ties. Braided details often seen in belts and hats are showcased throughout the restaurant, most significantly in the interlocking wood ceiling panels floating above the main and semi-private dining areas. A central wine wall separates main dining from semi-private dining, where guests can view the immense wine program while they dine at leather and hide banquettes. An abstracted landscape mural of cattle ranchers acts as both door and artwork, offering a peek into the private dining room, where luxe hair on hide wallcovering embellishes the walls.
