From the Mediterranean to Campbell, California
BE.STÉAK.Ă
The Florentine Inspiration
Named in homage to Bistecca alla Fiorentina, a traditional Florentine dish, BE.STÉAK.Ă is helmed by Bay Area-native and renowned chef Jeffrey Stout and is located in Campbell’s Pruneyard Shopping Center. Chef Stout, behind the popular Orchard City Kitchen, called upon Oakland-based firm Arcsine to create the architecture and design for the space, and bring his vision to life.
Raw and Refined
BE.STÉAK.Ă celebrates the culinary arts by highlighting the inherent juxtaposition of the raw and refined, as well as the focus on tactile and textured components. The 185-seat space includes a main dining room and bar along with two private dining rooms and two patios.
The Details
Details throughout the space create points of connection and the joining of unexpected materials and textures to form a cohesive aesthetic. A newly renovated exterior gives way to the clean, minimal feel of the entry, leading to a large kitchen-view window where guests can watch handmade pasta being made. The color scheme varies from room to room but overall features a neutral Italian coastal palette, with shades of white, blue, charcoal grey, copper, and terra cotta—all complementing the light walnut features.
