You all know by now that our I Like Design competition gives students the chance to utilize the greatest (and FREE!) marketing tool at their disposal: social media.
In this digital age, the value of self-promotion on these platforms is critical and ILD shows them exactly how to use it to their advantage.
But what you didn’t know yet is that this year we’re going bi-coastal #eastwestdesignfeud! Students will get a shot at not one, but two opportunities to jump start their careers. The two lucky winners will be placed for a summer internship at either:
Arcsine
Arcsine is a comprehensive architecture and interior design firm based in Oakland, California serving the hospitality, workplace, retail and residential markets nationwide. Since its establishment in 2003, co-founding principals Daniel Scovill and Adam Winig have balanced a steadfast commitment to design quality, sustainability, and collaboration. This year, the San Francisco Bay Area NEWH chapter selected Arcsine as a top interior design firm for 2015.
//3877
Multidisciplinary firm //3877 is committed to providing innovative and creative concepts that enhance and enrich the lives of clients, partners, and communities. The Washington, D.C.-based studio, led by David Shove-Brown, AIA, NCARB, and David Tracz, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, focuses on developing solutions that are thoughtful and functional for the hospitality, residential, commercial, and healthcare/wellness markets. The 10+-person studio specializes in architecture and interior design, while also being fully versed in branding and graphic design.
The winners will be assigned at random by I&S. We’ll also be shortening the voting season significantly next year. The deadline for submissions to the design challenge below is Feb. 26, 2016. Arcsine and //3877 will select the finalists, who will be announced on I&S.com on March 14, at which point the first round of public voting will begin. The bottom half of finalists with the lowest number of votes will be eliminated at the end of the week. The final round of voting for those still standing will run from March 21-27. The two final winners with the most votes will be announced on March 28th! They’ll then learn if they are headed to Oakland, Calif. or Washington D.C. for the summer of 2016 where they’ll work a paid internship and receive paid housing for the duration of it. We’ll also fly them to NeoCon in Chicago in June and cover their work in both print and online editions of the magazine.
