Early in the planning stage, Arcsine was brought in by the clients, first-time restaurant owners, to evaluate several spaces before finally settling on this prime location in the Marina District. The owners wanted a vibrant location for a casual and unique restaurant concept that embodied a comfortable “old-world” San Francisco aesthetic. Taking advantage of an existing operable skylight, Arcsine positioned the bar and lounge at the rear of the space to allow patrons to enjoy a sunny brunch during the day or sip cocktails under an open night sky. In addition, the kitchen was reconfigured to open towards the front seating areas, creating a dramatic entrance foyer. Finally, Arcsine worked with the client to select fixtures and finishes that added a touch of refinement, instantly creating a new neighborhood gathering place on this busy urban thoroughfare.
